Purpose and Objectives of the Planning and Projects Review Advisory
Committee
The purpose of the Planning and Projects Review Advisory Committee (PPRAC) is to provide direction, guidance and monitor implementation to the planning system and the public sector investment programme of the Government of the British Virgin Islands.
Terms of Reference of the Planning and Projects Review Advisory Committee (PPRAC)
The key functions of the POC will be:

To keep under continuous review the impact of policies on national objectives;

To keep under continuous review progress on the preparation of sectoral plans and programs, to identify potential and existing bottlenecks that impede progress, and to devise and take the steps necessary to effect solutions;

To monitor and review progress on the finalization of financial arrangements for the implementation of projects under the PSIP; and
-
To review and report to the Executive Council progress on all matters relating to planning public sector investment programme activities.
Materials, Tools and Resources
The Planning and Projects Review Advisory Committee (PPRAC) will have access to summarized reports of capital expenditure and commitments from the Treasury, the Public Works Department and other relevant ministries. The Projects Data Bank (PDB) at the Development Planning Unit is to provide project cycle management information to the Planning and Projects Review Advisory Committee (PPRAC) and its sub-committees. The Development Planning Unit is to serve as the secretariat for the Planning and Projects Review Advisory Committee (PPRAC).
Operational Guidelines
The Planning and Projects Review Advisory Committee (PPRAC) is under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister as the Minister for Finance and Planning. The main committee is to meet bi-monthly to receive and review technical and financial reports related to the planning of the Public Sector Investment Programme and planning in general. The technical committee is to meet monthly to prepare necessary reports for the main committee.
